How It Works GSI is offering paid internships for the summer of 2012 to undergraduate and graduate students majoring in, or who have majored in geology
or civil engineering (or a closely related engineering discipline).

 

GSI internships are designed to expose students to the geotechnical engineering and environmental consulting fields by shadowing GSI leaders to observe their management practices, and by contributing to ongoing projects.

 

How to Apply You will need to submit a cover letter describing why you are suited for the internship, a resume, a letter of recommendation from a professor or advisor and an unofficial transcript.

Primary job duties include: Directing, coordinating, and implementing geotechnical projects; Preparing geotechnical reports, including subsurface logs, geologic profiles, location plans, and site maps; Performing laboratory and field testing on samples gathered during the project process; Preparing job proposals and client invoices; Directly supervising various levels of multidisciplinary staff including staff engineers, drillers, and technicians; and Making correct decisions relating to technical and management matters.

Position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, P.E. license in Kansas or the ability to obtain one within three months, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong technical skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Must have experience with general business operations, marketing, business development, and staff management.
The GSI, Wichita, Kansas office is seeking a Senior Environmental Geologist.
The GSI, Wichita, Kansas office is seeking a Senior Lead Driller. Required to have a Class A CDL, clean driving and personal record. At least 5-10 years of environmental and/or geotechnical drilling experience. Must be willing to relocate to the Wichita area.
The GSI, Grand Island, Nebraska office is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician for construction materials testing.
