Arkansas City Levee Upgrade
The Tulsa Corps of Engineers Arkansas River flood control project required that the earthen levee be increased in height and width through an 8-mile stretch bordering Kansas and Oklahoma to withstand the 100 and 500 year flood events. GSI worked with the Corps of Engineers and civilian contractors to provide contractor quality assurance and quality control during the six-year construction schedule. |

Lake Manawa Borrow Site
The Iowa Department of Transportation and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources looked to GSI to assist in gathering preliminary geotechnical information to help evaluate a unique borrow source for the proposed reconstruction of I-80 and I-29 near Council Bluffs, Iowa. Since the wind blown materials in western Iowa were not suitable for road construction due to frost susceptibility another source needed to be located and characterized. |

Newport Landing is the result of a unique partnership between the private sector and the public sector that has produced significant flood control and public recreational benefits while offering 280 lots for lakeside living within the 250,000 acre Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District. |

SE Nebraska COOP
