GSI has participated in special studies to assist the state in statistical research, forensic work and quality control investigations. At the direction of the state, GSI collected groundwater samples, which were analyzed for an extended list of chemical of concern. These included compounds used as oxygenates in motor fuel. GSI also investigated the work of a suspicious tank puller to verify the quality of work and appropriateness of clean closures.
