Safety First
Safety is a top priority for all employees at GSI. All field personnel go through a mandatory 40 hours of OSHA safety training, as well as yearly refresher courses. In addition, workplace safety is emphasized regularly, including training in first aid, CPR, fire extinguisher use, and much more. Our ongoing emphasis on safety training makes our staff better prepared for your specific safety training requirements.
Hazardous Waste Training
All GSI field personnel go through a mandatory 40-hour training course in OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER). Personnel are trained in areas such as HAZMAT labeling, Accidental Release Measures and Spill Cleanup Procedures, Respiratory Protection, and Decontamination Procedures. Every GSI field employee also undergoes a yearly HAZWOPER refresher course.
Workplace Safety

Whether it is fire extinguisher training, first aid and CPR training, driving safety, or ergonomics, GSI emphasizes workplace safety. At monthly meetings, we emphasize a specific safety issue, overview items to remember, and provide a brief refresher course in that particular area. GSI staff receives training from the fire department in fire extinguisher use, and we are currently working to ensure that every employee has received at least a half-day of first aid and CPR training.

Customer Specific Training
Because of our high standards for continuing safety training, GSI staff members are well prepared for any further safety training that your particular project may require. Our full OSHA training, including initial and refresher courses, as well as an ongoing commitment to safety in the workplace, gives our staff a unique ability to successfully meet further specific project safety training requirements.
